Who Should Apply?

The Mid-Career Seminar is designed for women physicians and scientists with an appointment at an AAMC member school of medicine, with a minimum of two years of experience (from the date of the seminar) as an Associate Professor. Beginning with their first medical school faculty appointment, applicants typically have a minimum of eight years of experience. Mid-career applicants should have demonstrated leadership ability that may include formal administrative, organizational (local or national), or other types of informal leadership roles. They must actively be seeking leadership opportunities to advance to the next stage of their career, including full professorship or other advanced leadership positions, as the curriculum focuses on the skills necessary for career advancement within academic medicine and science.

All applications will be reviewed to ensure that applicants are the correct fit for the program. Please consider applying to a seminar at a time that best allows you to be fully present in the classroom and engage in all activities to maximize the overall impact of the experience for yourself and the other participants.
